Incident at hospital leaves 1 facing battery charges

Being admitted into a medical facility can be a harrowing experience and the stress of the situation could lead a person to say or do things that would otherwise be unimaginable. Unfortunately, should a patient threaten or strike a staff member, the fallout of the situation could have a lingering impact on his or her life. A 43-year-old man is reportedly facing felony battery charges following a recent incident that is said to have taken place at a hospital in Wisconsin.

Incident reports

According to reports, the incident began when a man was admitted to the hospital on a recent Tuesday morning. His mother says she brought him to the facility after he began exhibiting strange behavior after allegedly consuming THC tablets. Soon after he was admitted, hospital staff members say he became violent and say they were forced to call the police several times during his stay.

Authorities claim that the man appeared to be agitated and was having trouble speaking clearly. They also say that while at the hospital, he threatened several staff members and struck one nurse. He is now facing numerous charges in relation to the incident, including felony battery, and reports indicate that he could be facing more than a decade behind bars if a conviction is obtained.
