Surveillance footage leads to robbery charges for 2 in Wisconsin

When surveillance footage captures a vehicle that is used as a means to escape the scene of a crime, authorities may seek to use this information in their efforts to identify a suspect. However, the mass production of most vehicle models can make this an arduous task, and there might be numerous vehicles of the same type in a given area. Two individuals in Wisconsin have recently been arrested and accused of robbery after authorities spotted a vehicle that allegedly matched the description of a getaway car.

Law enforcement agents claim that surveillance footage showed the vehicle parking in a lot next to a bank just before a robbery took place. They assert that a man left the vehicle for a short period, and then jumped over a fence and entered the passenger seat before the vehicle drove away from the scene. Nearly a week later, a police officer encountered a vehicle that matched the description of the one in the surveillance footage and decided to investigate the matter further.

This investigation reportedly led to the arrest of two individuals, one of whom allegedly matched the description of the suspect. Authorities also assert that one of the men was wearing an ankle bracelet due to previous convictions, and that a tracking chip in the device placed him at the scene at the time of the incident. Both individuals have been accused of involvement in a series of robberies over the past two months, and each is facing multiple charges in relation to the investigation.

Individuals who stand accused of involvement in a robbery may find it beneficial to seek guidance as soon as the charges are filed. A defense attorney can help a client gain a better understanding of the situation and assist him or her in forming a strong defense. An attorney can thoroughly examine the evidence against a client in Wisconsin and provide guidance on the best course of action to take during court proceedings.
