Wisconsin man accused of multiple drug crimes after alleged chase

A 27-year-old man in Wisconsin has been arrested and accused of involvement in drug activity following a recent incident in which he allegedly attempted to evade arrest. Facing accusations of a drug-related crime can be a scary and taxing experience. With the potential weight of a conviction for drug crimes, those who face such charges may wish to protect themselves from undesirable consequences, but they may need guidance in forming a strong defense.

According to reports, the incident took place after authorities received information about the possible presence of a substantial amount of cocaine in a nearby vehicle. They proceeded to follow the car and assert that upon stopping, the driver of the vehicle began to flee the scene. Authorities then enlisted a K-9 unit to perform an open air search of the vehicle, which allegedly indicated that illegal drugs were contained within.

The K-9 unit proceeded to track the driver, which allegedly led authorities to discover a cell phone and a small bag of cocaine. Upon questioning others within the car, they claim to have obtained information about the man’s destination, and assert that he was found hiding within the residence. He was arrested soon thereafter and is facing numerous drug charges in relation to the incident.

A conviction for drug crimes of this nature carries serious penalties that could have a significant impact on a person’s future. Those who face similar charges will likely benefit from consulting with a defense attorney in the initial stages of the process. An attorney in Wisconsin can work toward protecting a client’s legal rights and assist in pursuing the most favorable outcome possible given the situation.
