JON'S CELL: A 27-year-old Kenosha woman faces multiple drug charges, including nine counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, delivering marijuana, delivering non narcotics, delivering mushrooms, possession with the intent to deliver marijuana, as well as being party to the crimes of maintaining a drug trafficking place. These charges stem from the woman’s part in an undercover drug sting that occurred back in October resulting in her arrest.
Police have stated that the woman allegedly drove her 25-year-old girlfriend to two different drug deals in which a confidential informant purchased a variety of drugs from the woman’s girlfriend, including marijuana, mushrooms, and the prescription drug Adderall. During a subsequent search of the couple’s residence, police allegedly discovered 16 grams of suspected mushrooms and five marijuana plants along with a variety of drug paraphernalia, including two digital scales and packaging material. A .22-caliber rifle with the serial number removed was also discovered at the scene.
According to police records, the woman allegedly stated during an interview with investigators that as a college criminal justice major at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, she was aware of “what’s legal and illegal.” After being told that the drug deals had been recorded, she then told police that she knew it was illegal, but that she had not trafficked large amounts of anything.
The woman was granted a $10,000 signature bond at her first court appearance. A preliminary court hearing has been set for Feb. 12.
Drug charges are a serious matter and should not be taken lightly. An experienced Wisconsin attorney might be able to present a defense that may reduce these charges and limit jail time.
