Search of residence leads to felony drug charges for 1

There are a variety of circumstances in which authorities might choose to initiate an investigation into the possible presence of drug-related activity. Reports of a wave of drug overdose deaths could prompt a similar response and such matters could leave authorities under pressure to locate those responsible and bring the situation to a close. A recent investigation involving similar concerns reportedly led to the search of a residence which left a woman in Wisconsin facing felony drug charges. 

Investigation into drug activity 

While many of the details pertaining to how the investigation began remain unclear, reports indicate that it culminated in the execution of a search warrant at a residence on a recent Thursday. According to law enforcement agents, the search unearthed the presence of various types and amounts of illegal substances, including fentanyl and cocaine. They also claim to have found as much as $16,000 in cash during the search. 

Authorities also assert that substances such as fentanyl have played a role in a string of recent overdose deaths in the area. Reports indicate that a woman who allegedly lives at the residence in question was taken into custody soon after the search.  According to reports, she will likely face numerous felony drug charges in relation to the investigation and the penalties for similar charges carry severe repercussions should a conviction be obtained.
