1 arrested following alleged domestic violence incident

While many couples may engage in arguments from time to time, these disputes may rarely result in acts of physical violence. However, should others nearby claim that an altercation became physical, they may wish to report the incident to authorities. A 35-year-old man has been taken into custody after witnesses called police about an alleged domestic violence incident in Wisconsin.

Authorities claim they received information about a possible domestic dispute at around 5:30 p.m. on a recent Saturday. According to witnesses, a man had taken hold of a woman’s hair and forced her and her children inside a house. Upon arriving at the scene, police assert they could hear shouting coming from within the home, and they reportedly requested backup from a SWAT team before approaching the man.

After additional officers arrived at the location, the man was taken to a medical facility for treatment before being taken into custody. Police also advised that the woman and her kids were given medical attention, but stated they didn’t appear to be injured. Although no further information was provided, authorities have advised that the man remains in custody while criminal charges are pending.

Due to the potential gravity of a conviction for domestic violence charges, those accused of such an act may find it beneficial to seek guidance as soon as possible. By consulting with a defense attorney, a person in Wisconsin could obtain advice on the potential consequences he or she may face and guidance on how best to proceed. An attorney can work toward protecting a client’s legal rights and assist in forming a strong defense for use during court proceedings.
