Violent crimes: 1 facing attempted homicide charges in Wisconsin

It might not be all that uncommon for a couple to experience heated arguments from time to time. While these incidents may rarely escalate into physical confrontations, in some cases, a similar situation can grow out of control, potentially leaving one party accused of violent crimes. A man has been arrested and accused of assault and attempted homicide following a recent domestic dispute at a home in Wisconsin.

Law enforcement agents claim the incident took place on a recent Monday when the man allegedly forced his way into the home of his girlfriend. After entering the home, authorities assert he struck the woman in the face, slammed her head into a nearby wall and then proceeded to choke her to the point of unconsciousness. At some point during the alleged incident, she claims she was able to get away and call for help.

Upon arriving at the scene, police say they located the woman outside the home and assert that she showed signs of serious physical injury and was unable to speak. She reportedly indicated the man was still inside the home and police took him into custody soon thereafter. According to reports, he is facing multiple charges in relation to the alleged incident, including attempted first-degree homicide.

Due to the complex nature of the criminal justice system, those accused of violent crimes such as attempted homicide may be uncertain how best to approach the situation. Fortunately, there are attorneys who can help a person gain a better understanding of the situation and provide guidance in choosing a path with which to proceed. A defense attorney in Wisconsin can work toward protecting a client’s legal rights and provide assistance in pursuing the best outcome possible during subsequent court proceedings.
