Violent crimes: 2 facing charges following robbery and standoff

Two individuals are facing numerous criminal charges after they were arrested in connection with a recent armed robbery and police standoff in Wisconsin. Violent crimes of this nature are serious offenses, and the accused individuals may face severe penalties if a conviction is obtained. When facing a similar situation, one might benefit from working on forming a strong defense with guidance from an attorney.

According to police, the incident began around 1:30 a.m. on a recent Thursday when the two were allegedly involved in an armed robbery at a local convenience store. Soon thereafter, the authorities claim to have received reports of a domestic dispute at a nearby residence and, upon arriving at the location, assert that neither individual was willing to comply. Authorities proceeded to call in reinforcements for the alleged standoff, and they say that both individuals eventually surrendered and were taken into custody.

The man is reportedly facing domestic violence charges in relation to the incident. He and a woman have also been accused of robbing the convenience store with the use of a firearm. However, it is unclear how authorities were able to connect them to the robbery, and no information was provided as to the recovery of the weapon or any stolen goods, or whether the alleged victim of the robbery was able to provide authorities with a description.

Being accused of violent crimes such as armed robbery can be an intimidating experience. Those who wish to protect themselves against such accusations could benefit from speaking with a defense attorney as soon as the charges are filed. An attorney in Wisconsin can thoroughly examine a client’s situation and provide advice on the best course of action to take during subsequent court proceedings.
