Wisconsin man accused of sex crimes, child pornography

As technology evolves, so do the laws regarding internet crimes, especially those concerning the distribution of pornography. Anyone in Wisconsin who is charged with distributing pornography has probably been under investigation for some time and should seek legal counsel who has extensive experience in this area of law. Those charged with sex crimes may also be facing an uncertain future.

Recently, a man was arrested in his home and charged with felony child pornography. The charges came after a two month investigation which began when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children alerted police that images of child pornography may have been sent from the man’s home computer to the United Kingdom. The investigation led to a search warrant being served at the man’s house.

Police reportedly confiscated computers, hard drives and some graphic writings detailing sexual abuse of children. The children involved seemed to be between the ages of three and 14. Additionally, some of the images which had been reported from the Center for Missing and Exploited Children were apparently located on a flash drive in the man’s bedroom.

The man is charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography. If convicted, he faces a prison sentence of 235 yearsand up to $1 million in fines. Understandably, sex crimes against children are zealously prosecuted. Therefore, the rights of those accused must be strongly defended. Those in Wisconsin accused of possessing child pornography may wish to consult an attorney as quickly as they are able in order to begin preparing the best possible defense.
