A Wisconsin restaurant owner with a history of sexual crime convictions is once again in trouble with the law. The 61-year-old man, who owns Gyros & More in Neenah, was charged last month with soliciting prostitutes, prostitution and bail jumping. The man allegedly paid one of his female employees to have sex with him. The defendant was already awaiting trial, which is set to start later this month, for having unwanted sexual contact with an employee.
This June, he was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault on three of his female workers. The women said that he touched them inappropriately. One said that if she asked him for a change in her schedule, he would only make the change in exchange for a kiss or some type of sexual touching. Another told authorities that she feared for her job, so she did not report her boss sooner.
The restaurant owner has had legal problems since facing sexual assault charges back in 2010. A restaurant employee accused him of forcing her to have sex just days after she started her job. He pleaded no contest and was put on probation for two years.
The most recent prostitution charges stem from accusations by a woman who is currently serving time in jail and a sting operation involving the woman. She told authorities that “she made it very well known to him that she was a drug user, and that every last dollar that he gave her was going for drugs.” She claimed that he had paid her approximately $5,000 annually for sex since 2009. Police in Menasha had her set up a rendezvous at a hotel and then arrested the man when he arrived.
Every past criminal conviction a person has had can increase the penalties he or she could face for new charges. That’s why it’s essential to have experienced legal representation to help protect your rights.
