Wisconsin man faces charges for alleged sexual assault of girl

A 33-year-old West Bend man is facing criminal charges for allegedly having sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl. The man has been charged with attempted first-degree sexual assault of a child, sexual exploitation of a child and two counts of causing a child under the age of 13 to view or listen to sexual activity.

The charges against the man stemmed from an investigation that reportedly began as police were investigating a 24-year-year-old man who allegedly had sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl in an unrelated case. Both of the youths reportedly met the men while communicating on mobile chat applications.

According to investigators, the 33-year-old man began chatting with the girl sometime in late September or early October by use of the mobile apps KiK and Whisper. During an interview, investigators state that the girl reported that the conversations between her and the man were of a sexual nature and that during their exchange, he had sent her a photo of his face and she had sent him nude photos of herself. The girl stated to police that the two initially met in mid-October for the purpose of having sex, but she had fallen asleep, so the two did not have sex until they met again later that month.

Investigators later arrested the man after reportedly taking over the girl’s KiK account and communicating with the man, who allegedly sent a photo of himself having sex with the girl during a conversation with an investigator, whom the man thought was the girl.

Defendants who are facing a sexual assault charge involving a minor, may benefit from the counsel of an experienced Wisconsin criminal attorney.
