Wisconsin man held in alleged sexual assault of teenager

A 31-year-old man from Waupon, Wisconsin, is facing three counts of sexual assault of a child under 16 after appearing in the Dodge County Circuit Court on Sept. 30. The charges against the man stemmed from an alleged sexual assault of a 15-year-old teenager that reportedly occurred on Sept. 27.

According to court documents, an investigation into the alleged incident began after the teenager’s mother called police to ask them to perform a welfare check on her son who was reportedly at the home of the man. Police state that while performing a search of the residence, they discovered the boy hidden in a corner of the home’s basement wearing only a pair of boxer shorts.

Upon questioning the teenager, they were allegedly informed that he had been sexually assaulted by the man. During the interview, the boy told police that he had met the man in Fox Lake, Wisconsin, about a month ago and that the man was referred to as “Uncle Jesse” by other young people in the area. He also reportedly told officers that he had told the man his age.

According to court records, when the man was later questioned by police, however, the man allegedly told them that he would not have brought the teenager to his residence if he was aware that the boy was not 18.

The man is currently being held on $250,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for Oct. 9.

Defendants who are facing sex crimes against children may benefit from the assistance and representation of a Wisconsin criminal attorney. These types of charges can have a significant impact on one’s personal and professional lives, even if a conviction is not obtained by the prosecution.
