19-year-old gets jail time for sex crimes against impaired girl

A 19-year-old Milwaukee man finally resolved his case this month by pleading guilty to four reduced misdemeanor counts for sex with a person 16 or older and one felony count of child enticement.

Although four men were initially charged with various felonies related to the alleged incident, the defendant, who was said to be the instigator of the incident with the victim, was the last to reach a plea agreement.

The 2012 case stemmed from an incident in which the man allegedly enticed a cognitively impaired 16-year-old girl to have sex with several young men.

The man, who had met the girl through Facebook and reportedly had sex with her numerous times, allegedly first told the girl to have sex with his 20-year-old friend while in the defendant’s basement.

They then drove her in a car to an alley off of N. 6th St. where the man began finding other young men in the neighborhood to engage in various sex acts with the victim while setting a timer to limit how long each man got with her.

At one point, one of the other men allegedly even went so far as to make a video of one of the young men with the girl. The video was then later shared on social media.

Although the victim considered the defendant to be her boyfriend, the Assistant District Attorney stated in court that the girl’s foster mother has said that the victim still does not understand the full impact of the sex crimes and goes from fearing retaliation by the defendants to feeling that she is in love with him.

The man was sentenced to 8 1/2 years in prison and will have to register as a sex offender upon his release.
