Accusations of sex crimes can severely damage an individual's personal and professional life. If the individual is convicted of the crime, the legal sanctions can include prison time and having to register on a sex offender registry.
The director of a local Wisconsin housing agency is the focus of an investigation stemming around the internet crime of downloading and possessing underage pornography. While no charges have been filed in this particular investigation, this is not the first time that the director has been accused of a sex crime.
Over ten years ago, the director had been charged and convicted of sexual assault. This conviction was the result of allegations that he was inappropriate with a high school student during his time as a coach and teacher.
The current investigation started after computers seized from the housing agency's office had underage pornography on them. It is believed that someone in the office downloaded the images onto the agency's computers. It is likely that the computers are being analyzed to determine who in the office actually downloaded the images.
At this point, the director has already begun to experience the consequences of the accusations. While the investigation is pending, he has been placed on administrative leave from his director role. In addition, it is likely that his reputation has already suffered damage among his colleagues and family.
