Woman sentenced to three years probation for drug crimes

Several individuals are finding out what sort of consequences they face for drug charges. Five individuals were charged with several counts of drug possession in connection with a drug operation that is believed to have spanned several states. One woman was recently sentenced to a stay of adjudication if she successfully completes three years of probation. She had pled guilty to a felony drug possession charge.

In addition to the probationary period, she will also have to spend several days in jail and pay court fees. She had been charged with two other felony drug charges that were then dismissed due to her guilty plea.

In the months that led up to the five individuals' arrests, authorities had been observing the ongoing activities of different known drug users. They were seen at the house where the five would bring drugs to sell. In December of last year, police raided the house as part of a drug sting.

According to the article, the source of the drugs that were brought to the house was traced to Detroit. The house under watch was found to be a point of sale as well as a hiding place for drugs.

One defendant, who was arrested with the woman, also pled guilty to the same drug charge and was granted a similar sentence. The judge in the case issued a statutory stay of adjudication which, in essence, is a deal between the court and the defendant that allows the admitted guilty party the opportunity to never be formally convicted of the crime if the defendant agrees to abide by the court's guidelines.

The three other individuals connected with the drug operation are still awaiting their court appearances. Those three individuals have also been charged with felony drug possession.
