Wisconsin man arrested after allegedly fleeing traffic stop

A 39-year-old Wisconsin man from Village of Union Grove is behind bars at the Racine County Jail after leading police on an alleged high speed chase that ended with his arrest. Charges against the man include possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, bail jumping, operating after revocation, resisting and obstructing and fleeing and eluding.

The charges against the man stemmed from an incident that began around 3:45 p.m. on June 3 after Muskego Police notified the Racine County Sheriff’s Department that a green Saturn had reportedly left the scene after being pulled over for a traffic stop. According to police, around 4:00 p.m., a Racine County Sheriff’s Deputy along with a K9 partner named Friday, reportedly spotted the Saturn and tried to stop the vehicle.

Instead of pulling over, however, the man continued to increase the speed of his vehicle. The deputy then tried to get the man to pull over again and the man allegedly sped up his vehicle again. After what police described as a short pursuit into the Town of Yorkville, the vehicle then came to a stop and the man took off on foot, running into a field of corn.

The man was subsequently arrested by the deputy and taken into custody after he was apprehended by Friday. Police state that the man was possibly intoxicated and was wanted on multiple outstanding warrants.

An experienced Wisconsin criminal attorney may be able to assist defendants who are charged withdrug crimes and could work to ensure that their rights are protected during the court process.
